An unprecedented blend of past and present welcomes travelers at the Salerno Maritime Station: in the stunning spaces designed by Zaha Hadid, it is now possible to admire the ancient funerary set of a princess from the 8th century BC, discovered in the Montevetrano necropolis.
The exhibition, the result of an agreement between the Superintendence, the Port Authority, and the Municipality of Salerno, offers an immersive cultural experience that highlights the history and identity of the territory. The display case housing the artifacts – custom-designed by architects Arturo Busillo and Antonio Mangone – contains symbolic objects that tell of the prominent role of the deceased and the ancient connections between Salerno and the Mediterranean.
An initiative that strengthens the terminal’s role as a place of culture and beauty, making the welcome to passengers even more meaningful.
