Young, smiling, well-prepared. But above all, they are the true protagonists.
They are the students of the “Regina Margherita” Language High School in Salerno who, starting from September and throughout the cruise season, have welcomed thousands of international tourists with professionalism and enthusiasm at the Zaha Hadid Cruise Terminal in Salerno.
Thanks to the project “Salerno and its Territory: Art, Culture, Archaeology and Tourist Hospitality”,launched under the agreement between Liceo Regina Margherita and Amalfi Coast Cruise Terminal – Port of Salernothird-year language students had the opportunity to turn their classroom knowledge into real-life experience: providing information, answering passengers’ questions with competence, guiding them towards the area’s historical, cultural and archaeological sites, and becoming true ambassadors of the city and the destination..
The response was immediate and significant: extremely positive feedback from both cruise passengers and cruise lines, who recognised this welcome service as an added value to the arrival experience in Salerno. A result that confirms the strength of a partnership capable of combining education, personal growth and the promotion of the local area.
Proprio alla luce di questi risultati, Amalfi Coast Cruise Terminal è lieta di annunciare che il progetto continue throughout the 2026 cruise season, when the Zaha Hadid Cruise Terminal is expected to welcome over three hundred thousand passengers from all over the world, confirming the steady growth of cruise traffic in Salerno and the increasingly strategic role of the port within the Mediterranean.
Investing in young people means investing in the future of hospitality.
And here in Salerno, that future has already begun to speak all the languages of the world.
